Who I am

I work with painting, drawing, text and video. For several years I have worked with art projects which shows how important the experience of war is in our historical and cultural understanding. Thematically, the projects treat the wounds of the great wars of the 20th century, but at the same time seeks parallels into our own politically chaotic time and thus ask questions about identity, culture and history. The projects are complex, comprehensive and with a challenging perspective. The art projects are presented as room installations.

During a residency in Paris, I met with the well-known Nazi-hunters Beate and Serge Klarsfeld. Their meeting revolved around how we all are captives in grand ideological, religious and political systems. This is the crucial point of my art work. From great ideas and great ideologies, much cruelty and terror also come forth.
